We are always with our electric bikes and visit the interesting sites about 1 hour from Montaud and our “A shade from an olive tree” lodge. This walk can be embellished with swimming in the river with picnic, and canoeing.

5 KM from the village of Castillon du Gard
Medieval village remarkable for its state of conservation. Castillon-du-Gard is located between Avignon, Nîmes and Uzès and is 6 km from Pont de Gard. Perched on a rocky outcrop, the medieval village overlooks the Gorges du Gardon. The village dates from the 13th century. You have to discover its cobbled streets, its gargoyles, its old watchtower and its chapel. The village offers a magnificent panorama of the vineyards and the Pont du Gard.
Kilometer 7 Crossing from “To Pont du Gard”
Village renowned for its laundries and stone quarries. Vers-Pont-du-Gard is a small village of 1800 inhabitants, in the scrubland in the heart of the Nîmes, Uzès and Avignon triangle. It inherited the name “Pont du Gard”. Vers Pont du Gard is fed by many sources. To visit: the village laundries dating from the 19th century, Grad Font, Font d’Isières and Misserand and the frog fountain. The market of Vers takes place on Saturday morning on the place des plane trees. The stone of Vers, exploited in Roman times, gives an ocher color to the facades of the houses. It was used for the construction of the Pont du Gard. The village is also known for its “Coteaux du Pont du Gard” wine. You have to see the Clock Tower, the church and its murals.

Kilometer 15 Passage of Saint Maximin
Leaning against a hill, Saint-Maximin du Gard overlooks the Alzon valley. Village built around its castle with shaded alleys and pretty squares. Visit its church with listed organs.
Kilometer 20 Village of Collias
Here, the Alzon flows into the Gardon. The river is magnificent. Collias was renowned for its “picholine” olives and the production of silk. Today Collias is best known for its nautical activities in the river. Magnificent walks will allow you to discover the gorges of Gardon, a protected natural site. Provençal market on Wednesday morning.
Kilometer 28 Pont de Gard
Passage of the Saint Pierre Begude and the chapel then the Pont de Gard. Attention, passage on foot compulsory! But you can also rent canoes and go under! The site is magnificent. You can admire the bridge while swimming in the river.
Kilometer 30 Remoulins
